A semantic-driven tradespace framework to accelerate aircraft manufacturing system design

During the design phase of an aircraft manufacturing system, different industrial scenarios need to be evaluated according key performance indicators achieve optimal system performance. It is a highly complex process involving multidisciplinary stakeholders, various digital tools and protocols. To address discontinuity challenge during this process, paper proposes tradespace framework based on semantic technology model-based systems engineering. aims at functionality integration requirement management, architecture definition, design, solution verification visualization. An application ontology developed integrate assembly domain knowledge, requirements model information. The proposed implemented in case study support fuselage orbital joint which part final line. A toolchain presented implementation, consists set enabling software corresponding functional modules framework. Different architectures are first designed by engineers supported stored graph database. They then analyzed through Discrete Event Simulations 3D simulations. simulation results web-based portal show values each architecture. This serves as proof-of-concept recently Cognitive Digital Twin concept.
